Student Registration
It is expected that all students (grades 6 to 8) who are new to the Bronx Urban Community Magnet School for the 2022-2023 school year arrive with the following documents to complete school registration the day of orientation.
- Copy of proof of Birth (i.e., Birth Certificate) Copy of proof of Legal/Official Guardianship (i.e., Photo ID of the guardian)
- Immunization Records
- Physical examination form (filled out by the student’s doctor)
- Copy of court papers for order protection (If the student has any)
- Copy of custody papers (If the student does not live with the biological parents)
- Letter from shelter (If the student i s currently i n temporary housing)
If the student's address changed over summer please have a copy of ONE of the following documents
- Con Edison bill
- Cable bill
- Bank Statement
- Rent receipt
- Management letter from the landlord
If a student is doubled up (living with another family) or renting a room please bring the following
- Notarized letter from the person responsible for the lease
If this i s the first time the student i s registering i n a NYC Public School (coming from out of state) please provide the following information as well
- Copy I.E.P./Individualized Educational Program (if the student has one)
- Copy of the student 504 plan (if the student has one)
- Copy of the student last report card
School Uniform Policy
6th Grade
Students in the 6th grade are expected to wear a plain black collared shirt with black or blue jeans. 6th graders are allowed to wear a plain black zipped hoodie or crew neck on top.
7th Grade
Students in the 7th grade are expected to wear a plain grey collared shirt with black or blue jeans. 7th graders are allowed to wear a plain grey zipped hoodie or crew neck on top
8th Grade
Students in the 8th grade are expected to wear a plain red collared shirt with black or blue jeans. 8th graders are allowed to wear a plain red zipped hoodie or crew neck on top
6th Grade Supply List
Math:
- 1 plastic pocket folder
- 1 pack of index cards
- 1 composition notebook
- 1 basic calculator
ELA:
- 2 plastic pocket folders
- 2 composition notebooks
All other subjects:
- 5 packs of #2 pencils
- 1 large pencil case
- 1 large block eraser
- 1 set of headphones/earbuds (for instructional use only)
- 1 pair of scissors
- 1 glue stick
- 1 pencil sharpener with shaving holder
- 1 pack of colored markers/colored pencils
- 1 highlighter
- 1 pack of Post-It notes
- Packs of tissues (to keep in backpacks)
- Reusable water bottle (suggested)
7th Grade Supply List
Math:
- 1 plastic pocket folder
- 1 pack of index cards
- 1 composition notebook
ELA:
- 2 plastic pocket folders
- 2 composition notebooks
All other subjects:
- 2 plastic pocket folders (music, health)
